What skin lesions can be removed within this service?

Benign (harmless) skin lesions that cause no concern to your GP, including:

Skin tags: snipped, cauterised or frozen with liquid nitrogen (cryotherapy**)

Cysts: excised (cut out) and stitched

Fatty lumps (lipoma): as for cysts

Small benign moles: mostly shaved and cauterised

Benign crusty or warty lesions (seborrhoeic keratosis): curettage & cautery or cryotherapy**

Blood vessel blemishes (spider naevus and haemangioma): cauterised

Dermatofibroma (smooth raised lumps in the skin): excised and stitched
