Following national changes to the provision of services to remove benign (harmless) skin lesions, these are now not routinely offered on the NHS. This has largely been due to the increasing pressures on the NHS to treat skin conditions of greater urgency, and the increase in the incidence of skin cancers of all kinds has also had to take higher priority.
Miss Anthony has set up the STAR (See, Treat, Analyse & Report) Skin Surgery Service, offering the surgical removal of certain harmless skin lesions that remain a cosmetic nuisance. These include:
Moles
Cysts
Lipomas
Seborrhoeic Keratosis
Skin Tags
Miss Anthony also offers treatment for the treatment of excessive sweating of the armpits.
Treatment is offered on a patient-funded basis, and Miss Anthony works closely with her excellent nurses to offer her patients a comfortable and pleasant experience during their skin surgery.
This service is usually conducted on a See and Treat basis ie the consultation and procedure are done in the same appointment. This means it is usually a single visit only (unless you require stitches to be removed at a later date).
PLEASE NOTE: A referral from your GP will usually be required to ensure that your lesion is harmless and does not require treatment on the NHS. Patients can also self-refer but if so will be asked for more information +/- photos to deem suitability for the service.
